PROCESS
This project was definitely a wild mix of trial and error, countless hours of scrapping, reworking, and pulling our hair out in the motion design labs (but also lots of fun). The brief was very open-ended, which gave us a lot of creative freedom, but also came with a pretty intense deadline. Gio and my goal was to merge both our styles into something fresh, energetic, and fun. So here’s a little behind-the-scenes look at how it all came together!
01. Concepts and Style Exploration

Finding the right direction for the project was a journey in itself. We started with four distinct concepts and explored a wide range of style frames, experimenting with different mediums and searching for a visual language that would define a unique brand identity for Future Proof.
02. Design Development
The trick here is how to combine both our styles to create something cohesive. After lots of testing we decided that passing our style frames back and fourth was the most effective. I focus on patterns, flatten perspective backgrounds, while Gio focuses on characters and environment with more dimensions.

03. Storyboard
Gio took the lead on storyboarding, and we explored many different versions along the way. One of our early concepts featured a cast of characters building individual letters that would eventually form the Future Proof logo. However, we ultimately abandoned this direction, as the letter-building felt creatively limiting.

04. Animation
For the animation processm we used a mix of effects and techniques brought the animation to life, all built through a procedural workflow to keep things structured and efficient.
05. Sounds
Sound was a huge part of the story. Working hand-in-hand with Kelly Warner, we built a quirky, funky track that makes you want to move. It brought the world to life and gave our little characters a big personality.
